Foreign Language and Information Technology Competency Building Program for Students
Abstract
One of the skills that students must have in the digital era and globalization is the ability to speak foreign languages and master information technology. MASTI Berlian as Madrasah Aliyah Information Technology has learning programs to form these competencies. This study aims to explain the learning programs in order to build students' foreign language and information technology competencies at MASTI Berlian. The type of research used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data sources were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Using Miles & Huberman data analysis techniques and data validity testing in the form of source and technique triangulation and peer discussion. Based on the results of data source analysis, it is known that the foreign language competency formation program focuses on English and Arabic learning programs. The program is divided into co-curricular, intra-curricular and extra-curricular. Co-curricular activities are in the form of habituation, namely English Morning for class X, Muhadatsah Lughatil Arabiyah, and Shobahul Lughah for Class XI. Intra-curricular is filled with English and Arabic subjects. While extra-curricular activities consist of English Specialization Class and Arabic Specialization Class. The information technology competency formation program is also divided into 3 types of activities. Co-curricular for class X in the form of Microsoft Office Training and 2D Design Training.
