Abstract

Rights and responsibilities are duties that must be borne by both husband and wife in household life. The husband is obliged to support his wife, give a dowry, refrain from speaking harshly or being abusive, and continue to teach religious knowledge to his wife. Conversely, the wife must fulfill her household responsibilities, such as pleasing her husband, taking care of his property, preparing all his needs, and serving him both physically and emotionally. If the wife engages in activities outside the home, whether working or continuing her education, she must obtain her husband's permission and not be overly conspicuous, for example by wearing makeup, jewelry, or dressing up. The objectives of this research are twofold: 1) to explain the implementation of the rights and responsibilities of a wife who is a university student in fulfilling her household duties and her responsibilities as a student; 2) to understand the relevance of the implementation of the rights and responsibilities of a wife who is a university student as described in the book `Uqūd Al-Lujjayn. This research uses a field research method, where the researcher conducts direct observations through interviews with several married female students in the KH. Abdul Chalim University Mojokerto environment. The data analysis used includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification, in order to compile the materials found during the interview and documentation process. The results of this study indicate that: 1) what the wife, who is a student, has done in fulfilling her duties as a housewife while also pursuing her education. 2) there is relevance to what is explained in the book `Uqūd Al-Lujjayn, in terms of obligations, rights, challenges, and solutions. For example, a wife who engages in activities outside the home must obtain her husband's permission, and what the student wife practices has received permission and support from her husband to pursue her education.
