The pluralism of the Indonesian nation, including Aceh, the westernmost province of Indonesia, is one of the factors causing radicalism to quickly enter through global progress and the massive spread of Wahhabism, which can penetrate the gaps in Islamic education. Therefore, for prevention, the Aceh government implemented three essential policies. The results of field data from several key informants consisting of Aceh border Dayah leaders and the Aceh Dayah Education Service, which is strengthened by the results of field observations, lead to the conclusion that the success of the three Aceh government policies cannot be separated from the results of the peace negotiations between GAM (Free Aceh Movement) and Indonesia in 2005, which led to the issuance of the "Aceh Government Law" (UUPA), serving as the basis for the implementation of formal Dayah education in Aceh.
2024-05-02T10:33:13+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://e-journal.uac.ac.id/index.php/NAZHRUNA/article/view/4187Investigating Respect in Learning as Character Education: A Review of al-Zarnūjī’s Ta‘līm al-Muta‘allim2024-05-14T14:52:19+00:00Miftachul Hudahalimelhuda@gmail.comAbu Zarrin Selamathudaelhalim@yahoo.co.idSultan SalemS.Salem@bham.ac.uk
Respect has been shown to provide psychological, social, and academic advantages; nevertheless, most academics have not given it enough credit in terms of encouraging students’ character development. Al-Zarnūjī’s idea, a classical Muslim scholar, as a point of reference for his esteemed work on the concept of Ta‘līm al-Muta‘allim has been one of the references in learning and teaching guidelines among pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) in Indonesia. This article aims to critically explore respect as a moral concept and explain how respect can contribute to current discussions in developing character education from the perspective of al-Zarnūjī’s Ta‘līm al-Muta‘allim. A critical analysis of books and journals that were cited was done concerning the contributions made in the field of character education. The study’s findings have led to three major disputes. The first is deference to knowledge as a source of illumination. Secondly, it is deference to the instructor as the foremost exemplar and facilitator of information exchange; and thirdly, it is honoring the colleague as a fellow participant in the educational journey. Respect in all of its dimensions should thus guide the process of teaching and learning.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://e-journal.uac.ac.id/index.php/NAZHRUNA/article/view/4843Challenges and Opportunities in Early Childhood Religious and Moral Education: A Perspective from the Evaluation of Logical Models2024-05-15T14:52:32+00:00Dwi Istiyanidwi_istiyani@walisongo.ac.idA.M Wibowoamwi001@brin.go.idMulyani Mudis Tarunamuly024@brin.go.idTitik Rahmawatititik.rahmawati@walisongo.ac.idNugroho Eko Atmantonugr012@brin.go.id
This study is an evaluation that aims to analyze the development of religious and moral values aspects of early childhood. The method used is a qualitative method, where data are collected through in-depth discussions with a logical model evaluation analysis in early childhood religious and moral values (NAM) development programs. The results of the study found three important things, namely first, so far value-based learning for early childhood is done through understanding religious symbols, daily routine worship practices, and daily prayers, while moral strengthening is done through fairy tales containing good values. Understanding and strengthening religious moral values in early childhood is implemented variably according to the needs of each school. This study also identified some weaknesses in the cultivation of religious and moral values in early childhood, namely routine activities that can obscure children's understanding and children's lack of enthusiasm due to mistakes in approaches that are not adapted to psychological development. Variations in teaching methods that are not appropriate for children's psychology can cause a distorted understanding of religious and moral values to become shallow. A holistic and diverse approach that takes into account the needs and characteristics of each child is needed to ensure that the cultivation of religious and moral values is effective and sustainable.
2024-05-15T07:37:47+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://e-journal.uac.ac.id/index.php/NAZHRUNA/article/view/4678The Power of Two Learning Strategy in Islamic Religious Education Material Shaping Character Student2024-05-23T14:55:19+00:00Masturin Masturinmasturin@iainkudus.ac.id
The power of two learning strategies in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has been studied to assess its effectiveness in shaping students' character. Primary and secondary data were used in this study. Secondary data were obtained from secondary sources, such as tabloids, magazines, bulletins, and online opinions, while primary data were obtained from primary sources, such as interviews and observations. This study found that first, the Islamic Boarding School, especially Ma'had Aly Hasyim Asaraiy, in essence has long used irfani and bayani reasoning in the form of hadith studies as a counter to the extreme burhani reasoning of Western civilization as a counterweight. However, lately, Islamic boarding school education with its Ma'had Aly begin to be carried away by the strandarization of such education. Second, Ma'had Aly education has a purpose as a response to global changes in the world of education which requires formality as an authority for recognizing the knowledge of its graduates, but has a big consequence that one day the boarding school will lose its irfanical reasoning characteristics by sinking into extreme burhani reasoning in the national education system implemented by the government.
2024-06-03T00:34:44+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://e-journal.uac.ac.id/index.php/NAZHRUNA/article/view/4903Comparison of Undergraduate Religious Education Curriculum in Indonesia and Malaysia2024-06-05T14:57:37+00:00Ahmad Ismailahmadismail@walisongo.ac.idMahfud Junaedimahfudjunaedi@walisongo.ac.idZainudin bin Hassanp-zainudin@utm.myNasikhin NasikhinNASIKHIN@walisongo.ac.id
This study aims to analyze the differences in the undergraduate curriculum of Islamic teacher education in Indonesia and Malaysia. This study is a qualitative type where data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The study, which took place at UIN Walisongo Semarang, Indonesia, and the University of Technology Malaysia, showed that there are differences in the structure and management of the curriculum of Islamic religious education study programs, namely; 1) In Indonesia, a bachelor's degree in Islamic religious teacher education can only be obtained by attending university immediately after students complete high school. In contrast, in Malaysia, high school graduates are required to follow one of the matriculation, foundation, or diploma programs for two years before continuing their undergraduate education at the university or the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG). 2) To complete a bachelor's degree in Islamic education, Indonesian students must complete 144 credits in a minimum of 3.5 years and a maximum of 7 years, while in Malaysia only 128 credits are required to be completed in a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 6 years. 3) Although both are supervised by the dean, the curriculum of the Islamic education study program in Indonesia is completely under the control of the chairperson of the study program, while in Malaysia, 40% is designed by the School of Education department (pedagogy area) and 60% is managed by the Tamaddun Academy (professional and social-personality ability area).
2024-06-05T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://e-journal.uac.ac.id/index.php/NAZHRUNA/article/view/4788Forms of Self-Harm Behavior in Adolescent Students at Boarding School2024-06-06T14:57:47+00:00Anniez Rachmawati Musslifahrachmawatianniez@gmail.comHeru Kurnianto Tjahjonoheru_tjahjono@umy.ac.idAkif Khilmiyahakif.khilmiyah@umy.ac.idFitriah M. Self-harm is someone's act of hurting or even injuring themselves. Self-harm is a self-destructive behavior that individuals engage in to cope with emotional pain. Teenagers experience this condition more often than anyone else. Female students often encounter adolescents with similar conditions. This paper aims to determine the forms of self-harm behavior among teenage female students at boarding schools in Central Java. This study employs a qualitative research methodology with a phenomenological approach. The main subjects were three female students aged 18–21 who had engaged in self-harm behavior for at least five days or more and had been doing so for several years, as well as three supporting subjects. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation, and documentation. According to the research results, all subjects tend to self-harm when they feel pressure or have problems. Other significant research further confirms this. Adolescent female students who commit self-harm find comfort in themselves. External relationships do not provide such comfort. In research subjects, the symptoms of self-harm behavior are described as physical symptoms, psychological symptoms, and social phenomena. Meanwhile, factors that influence teenage female students to commit self-harm include genetic factors, biological factors, environmental factors, and psychological factors.
2024-06-06T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://e-journal.uac.ac.id/index.php/NAZHRUNA/article/view/4676Fostering Moderate Character of Santri: Effective Hidden Curriculum Strategy in Islamic Boarding Schools2024-06-07T14:57:56+00:00Nur Agus Salimnuragussalim@uwgm.ac.idMohammad Zainimohzainimm@gmail.comAbd. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study utilizes descriptive methods to analyze how these strategies are executed within the classroom setting. Primary data were gathered through structured observations and in-depth teacher interviews, supplemented by a literature review to contrast current findings with established pedagogical practices. This comprehensive approach aimed to provide a nuanced understanding of the instructional methodologies, their implementation, and the contextual factors affecting their efficacy. The findings indicate combining traditional and contemporary teaching strategies significantly improves students' Qur'anic reading abilities. Repetitive recitation and group readings are pivotal in fostering phonetic skills and memorization. At the same time, incorporating digital tools and visual aids enhances engagement and aids in understanding complex Tajweed rules. Role-playing exercises have also proven to boost students' confidence and interactive learning. However, challenges such as inconsistent student engagement levels, limited technological resources, and large class sizes have been identified as substantial obstacles. These issues highlight the need for continued institutional support and resource allocation to optimize the effectiveness of teaching strategies and ensure comprehensive learning outcomes for all students.
2024-06-12T04:03:48+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://e-journal.uac.ac.id/index.php/NAZHRUNA/article/view/4710Multiculturalism among Students in Madrasah: Knowledge, Challenges, and Social Capital2024-06-16T14:59:09+00:00Syarif Syarifsyarifiainptk123@gmail.comFaisal AbdullahFaisal_nayilah@yahoo.co.idSaifuddin Herlambangsayf.herlambang@gmail.com
Multicultural knowledge among students is essential to building diversity and harmony in social life.
