Analysis of the Implementation of MUI Fatwa No. 83 2023 concerning the Law on Supporting the Palestinian Struggle at Toko Bagus
Abstract
Toko Bagus, as one of the renowned retail stores in Indonesia, is committed to supporting local products and SMEs. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the MUI fatwa in Toko Bagus, particularly concerning products originating from Palestine or related to the Palestinian struggle. The study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection is conducted through literature review, and the analysis method used is qualitative content analysis. The findings indicate that the boycott of Israeli products, in line with MUI Fatwa Number 83 of 2023, supports the concept of Maqasid Al-Shariah by safeguarding religion, life, intellect, wealth, and lineage. In the context of the Israel-Palestine conflict, this boycott serves as protection for the freedom of religion, livelihood, and economy of the Palestinian people, as well as a countermeasure against propaganda damaging the image of Islam. It also aims to pressure Israel to cease its aggression, respect the rights of the Palestinian people, and safeguard the younger generation of Palestinians.
