Abstract

This article aims to analyse the relationship between economics and religion and its impact on development. The main focus is to understand how religious values can influence economic policy and vice versa, as well as how synergies and conflicts between these two domains affect the welfare of society. This article seeks to reveal the complex dynamics between economics and religion in the context of development. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a library research approach. The data used is relevant secondary data from research journals, books, and internet media, such as Google Scholar. Topics sought include economic ethics, the role of religion, and moral and spiritual principles. The research results show that the relationship between economics and religion often presents a complex dilemma. Religious values can influence economic policy in various ways, from establishing policies based on moral and spiritual principles to direct influence on the economic behaviour of individuals and groups. On the other hand, economic policy can also influence religious practices and the application of religious values in society.
