Purbasinomba Village, North Padang Lawas, still maintains this tradition through the active existence of the NNB organization. This study aims to determine the position of NNB within the customary and social structure of the Purbasinomba Village community and its role in socio-religious activities in Purbasinomba Village. This research is qualitative and descriptive. Data collection techniques used were non-participant observation and in-depth interviews. Data analysis techniques used the interactive model by Miles &amp; Hiberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The study found that: 1) Within the customary structure, NNB does not function as the primary decision-maker within the customary structure, but rather as a field implementer, ensuring that activities are orderly, organized, and in accordance with local customs. Within the social structure, NNB serves as a glue for youth solidarity and a strengthener of mutual cooperation. The NNB's work pattern is based on clear coordination, receiving direction from the Hatobangon (religious leader) or respected figure. The management then assigns tasks to members to be carried out collectively. 2) The NNB's role as a steward of activities and a catalyst for social solidarity. The NNB actively assists in the preparation and implementation of religious activities, such as organizing the venue, cleaning, equipment, and organizing, as well as participating in committees for village religious events. Penurunan Indeks Kerukunan Umat Beragama menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan memiliki peran strategis sebagai ruang internalisasi nilai-nilai moderasi beragama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis strategi penguatan nilai moderasi beragama di sekolah menengah atas di SMAN 4 Palangka Raya. Penelitian ini mengunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan <em>(field research). </em>Subjek penelitian terdiri dari tiga belas orang yaitu satu kepala sekolah, empat guru agama dan masing-masing dua siswa yang memiliki latar agama yang berbeda. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi sedangkan analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi penguatan nilai moderasi beragama di SMAN 4 Palangka Raya dilaksanakan melalui empat strategi utama, anatara lain integrasi sembilan nilai moderasi beragama dalam kegiatan sekolah, hari besar keagamaan, peringatan hari besar nasional dan dukungan kepala sekolah terhadap kebijakan moderasi beragama. Faktor pendukung strategi penguatan nilai moderasi beragama meliputi komitmen kepala sekolah, peran aktif guru agama lintas keyakinan, lingkungan sekolah yang aman dan toleran, layanan bimbingan dan konseling, kebijakan pemerintah, dukungan komite sekolah, kondisi sosial siswa yang beragam, metode pembelajaran kolaboratif, serta kerja sama dengan pihak luar sekolah. Adapun faktor penghambat mencakup belum meratanya pemahaman warga sekolah, keterbatasan waktu pembelajaran akibat padatnya kurikulum, kurangnya koordinasi antarunsur sekolah, serta pengaruh media sosial. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical method. Data were collected through observation of digital da’wah content, in-depth interviews with digital preachers and audiences, and documentation of da’wah activities on social media platforms. The findings reveal that digital da’wah is not merely a transfer of conventional da’wah into online spaces, but rather a process of adaptation shaped by the logic of digital media and the characteristics of digital audiences. Digital da’wah fosters more participatory communication, in which audiences actively respond to and interpret religious messages. Islamic values remain central to digital da’wah, although they are conveyed in more contextual and socially relevant forms. Despite its contribution to enhancing religious awareness and social consciousness, digital da’wah also faces challenges, including algorithmic pressures, attention competition, and the risk of message simplification. This discourse has been intensively promoted since the leadership of Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and was further institutionalized through national policy, particularly the 2020–2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). This study aims to examine the concept, indicators, and mainstreaming strategies of religious moderation implemented by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as to identify the sources of resistance and misunderstanding among certain social groups. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research and policy analysis of official government documents and relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that religious moderation is conceptualized as a balanced, just, and inclusive religious attitude, reflected through key indicators such as national commitment, tolerance, rejection of violence, and accommodation of local culture. The mainstreaming of religious moderation is carried out through policy integration, educational programs, and the strengthening of religious institutions and state apparatus. This study aims to understand the motivations, challenges, and benefits of downshifting among Australians using a qualitative approach and critical theory. The results show that downshifting is undertaken to achieve a better life balance, improve mental health, and foster more meaningful relationships with family and community. Despite facing financial challenges and changes in social status, those who downshift report increased life satisfaction and overall well-being. This phenomenon is also examined from an Islamic ethical perspective, which is in line with the principles of zuhd (simplicity) and qanā'ah (contentment), and supports environmental sustainability. In fact, in the Islamic boarding school tradition, the relationship between kyai and students is built on the basis of spiritual, moral, and educational values. The purpose of this study is to analyze the nature of the kyai-santri relationship from the perspective of positive law and sharia law and examine the meaning of devotion as part of the Islamic tarbiyah system. The research method used is a qualitative approach with normative and sociological analysis, through a literature review of regulations, classical pesantren literature, and related journal articles. The results show that the kyai-santri relationship is pedagogical and spiritual, not an employment relationship. In sharia law, devotion of students is a form of worship and a process of moral formation (tahdzib al-nafs), while in positive law, this practice is recognized as part of an education system based on sincerity and devotion, not exploitation. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejumlah bahaya yang ditimbulkan oleh LGBT dengan pendekatan historis, analisis hukum Islam dan hukum positifnya, termasuk fatwa MUI dan regulasi di beberapa negara. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan (<em>library research</em>) dan analisis deskriptif. Sumber data primer meliputi ayat Al-Qur’an, hadis, fatwa MUI, dan peraturan perundang-undangan. Sumber sekunder terdiri dari jurnal ilmiah, buku referensi, artikel sejarah LGBT dunia dan Indonesia, serta pandangan para ahli psikologi dan sosial mengenai penyebab munculnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LGBT menunjukkan bahaya sosial, psikologis, dan keagamaan seperti menormalisasi perilaku menyimpang, penyebaran penyakit HIV dan AIDS, penurunan fungsi otak, kesalahan berpikir, gangguan mental, anti nasihat, dan datangnya azab sebagai konsekuensi. Pencegahan terhadap dampak yang ditimbulkan hanya dapat dilakukan melalui kolaborasi seluruh lini, mulai dari institusi keluarga, pendidikan, otoritas keagamaan, hingga negara. Akan tetapi, ketiadaan regulasi yang spesifik dan tegas dari Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia menyebabkan lemahnya daya kontrol dan penegakan hukum. The study is motivated by the lack of attention to local historical sites amid modernization and industrial development in the Bayah area. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews with community leaders, village officials, and local cultural actors. The results indicate that the Suwakan Heroes’ Cemetery holds significant historical and social value as a symbol of the community’s struggle in defending Indonesia’s independence. The annual pilgrimage and torch parade demonstrate the continuity of values such as solidarity, patriotism, and collective memory within the community. However, the site faces challenges from industrial activities and low public awareness of local history preservation. This study aims to examine the level of social awareness of the people of Sawarna Timur Village, Bayah District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, as well as the social dynamics that influence waste management behavior. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and focus group discussions involving village officials, community leaders, RT/RW heads, housewives, youth, and traders. The results indicate that community social awareness remains at a low level, reflected in the practice of throwing waste into rivers, burning waste in yards, and burying waste in vacant lots as socially normalized habits. This condition is influenced by limited infrastructure, low environmental education, the weak role of village institutions, and social norms that do not support ecological behavior. Nevertheless, the values of mutual cooperation and local leadership emerged as social capital that has the potential to encourage the formation of collective awareness. In the context of modern education, which often emphasizes cognitive and instrumental aspects, Al-Farabi’s ideas concerning the purpose of education, namely achieving al-sa‘ādah (true happiness) and the perfection of intellect, remain highly relevant. This study aims to examine in depth Al-Farabi’s philosophy of education and to analyze its relevance to character formation within modern educational systems. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, involving critical analysis of both primary and secondary sources related to Al-Farabi’s thought as well as contemporary literature on character education. The findings reveal that Al-Farabi views education as a process of forming rational, moral, and civilized individuals who are capable of achieving balance between intellectual potential and ethical values. Key principles in Al-Farabi’s educational philosophy, such as the importance of teachers as moral exemplars, virtue-based education, and the development of rationality as a pathway to morality, demonstrate strong relevance to contemporary character education paradigms. The implications of this study indicate that integrating Al-Farabi’s philosophical values into modern educational systems can strengthen the ethical and spiritual dimensions of students. The research employs a qualitative method using a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with youth participants, religious leaders, and local village officials. The findings indicate that although young people generally perceive religious study groups as an important source of moral guidance and religious knowledge, their level of participation remains relatively low. This condition is influenced by several psychosocial factors. Internal factors include limited intrinsic motivation, lack of personal interest, and the perception that religious activities are less appealing compared to other activities. Meanwhile, external factors involve the limited relevance of the learning materials to youth issues, monotonous teaching methods, and strong competition with digital entertainment and social media. Analysis based on Self-Determination Theory (SDT) shows that increasing youth participation requires the fulfillment of three basic psychological needs: autonomy, competence, and relatedness. When these needs are accommodated through more participatory, contextual, and interactive learning models, youth engagement tends to increase. Alfin Fatikh alfin@uac.ac.id Zainul Ahwan zainul.ahwan@gmail.com <p><em>This study aims to examine the persistence and transformation of the Javanese shadow puppet (wayang kulit) in the context of rapid developments in information and communication technology. Rather than experiencing decline, wayang kulit demonstrates a strong capacity for adaptation by utilising social media as a new public sphere. This research employs a qualitative approach, using narrative analysis to focus on story structures and dialogic interactions as carriers of meaning. The data consist of four YouTube videos of wayang kulit performances by Ki Seno Nugroho, selected based on the highest viewer counts. Ki Seno Nugroho was chosen for his consistent engagement with digital platforms and his broader audience reach than other puppeteers. The findings reveal that Punokawan characters (Semar, Gareng, Petruk, and Bagong) are repositioned as central figures who represent marginalised communities. Through these characters, the performances articulate multidirectional social criticism, targeting elite behaviour, moral degradation, social inequality, conspiratorial practices, and coercive communication styles. Importantly, the study finds a shift in narrative authority, where solutions to social problems are no longer dominated by aristocratic elites but are instead grounded in the voices and experiences of ordinary people. This study contributes to the field of cultural communication and narratology by demonstrating how traditional art forms can function as critical discursive spaces in digital environments.
