Kekerasan dalam Rumah Tangga Perspektif Lensa Hadis dan Maqashid Syariah
Domestic Violence through the Lens of Hadith and the Maqasid al-Sharia
Abstract
Domestic violence (DV) has long been a social issue of concern, both from a human rights perspective and Islamic law. Islam emphasizes compassion in family relationships and rejects all forms of abuse. This study aims to analyze domestic violence from the perspective of hadith and Islamic law, highlighting how religious texts can be interpreted in a more humanistic way. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, where the primary sources include hadith compilations, tafsir (Qur’anic exegesis), and relevant academic literature. The data is analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach to understand how Islamic teachings inherently promote justice and compassion within the family. The findings indicate that certain hadiths are often misinterpreted and used to justify domestic violence. However, a deeper analysis within the broader context of Islamic teachings reveals that Islam actually advocates fair and compassionate treatment of family members. This study affirms that domestic violence contradicts Islamic principles, which prioritize harmony and respect for individual rights within the household.
