Parental Involvement and the Development of Children’s Qur’an Memorization Skills
Keterlibatan Orang Tua dan Pengembangan Kemampuan Hafalan Al-Qur’an Anak
Abstract
Development of children in the context of Quranic memorization, as well as the strategies used to enhance the quality of memorization. In this context, parents play a central role in providing emotional support, guidance, and a conducive environment for children to memorize the Quran from an early age. To understand the parental role in enhancing children's Quranic memorization abilities at Amanatul Quran Islamic Boarding School, several research questions arise: What is the role of parents in improving children's Quranic memorization abilities, and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the enhancement of children's Quranic memorization abilities at Amanatul Quran Islamic Boarding School in Pacet Mojokerto. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The validity of the data is ensured through data triangulation. The research findings indicate that: 1) Parents play a crucial role in helping children memorize the Quran, involving motivation, spiritual support, attention, and interconnected communication. This forms a supportive and motivating environment for children's Quranic memorization achievements at Amanatul Quran Islamic Boarding School in Pacet Mojokerto. 2) Supporting factors such as high aspirations, consistency, a conducive environment, basic needs fulfillment, and parental support also play a significant role in the success of children in memorizing the Quran. On the other hand, inhibiting factors include short rest time, late-night activities, homework outside school hours, limited communication with parents, excessive holidays, and an unsupportive environment.
