Organizational Performance in the Hospitality Industry: The Mediating Role of Emotional Intelligence Between Talent Management and Self-Management
Abstract
This study investigates the effect of Talent Management and Self-Management on Organizational Performance, with Emotional Intelligence serving as a mediating variable. Focusing on employees of four-star hotels in Bandung City, a highly competitive hospitality hub, the research addresses the theoretical gap in integrating these specific variables within a single comprehensive model. Grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory. This research collected through structured questionnaires distributed 255 employees of four-star hotels using a non-probability snowball sampling techniquethe study emphasizes that intangible human resources act as strategic assets for sustainable competitive advantage. Utilizing a quantitative approach and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data collected from hotel employees, the study examines seven proposed hypotheses. The findings are expected to demonstrate that Talent Management and Self-Management significantly enhance Organizational Performance both directly and indirectly through the strengthening of employees' Emotional Intelligence. Consequently, this research provides valuable managerial implications for hotel management to optimize human capital strategies, improve service quality, and maintain organizational sustainability in the dynamic hospitality industry.
