Abstract

This study examines the influence of price value and perceived safety on purchase intention among consumers of Polytron electric motorcycles in Bandung City, Indonesia. The research is motivated by a marked decline in Polytron's electric motorcycle sales following the termination of the government's electric vehicle subsidy program in December 2024. Using a quantitative approach with descriptive and verificative methods, data were collected from 110 respondents selected through non-probability purposive sampling, all of whom resided in Bandung, were at least 17 years old, and had prior exposure to or interest in Polytron electric motorcycles. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate that price value has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, and perceived safety also has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence purchase intention, explaining 48.8% of its variance. Perceived safety emerged as the more dominant predictor. These findings suggest that fair pricing relative to benefits and strong perceptions of product safety are critical levers for stimulating electric motorcycle adoption in the post-subsidy era.
