Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), Financial Attitude, and Income Level on Financial Behavior with Self-Control as a moderating variable among multi-fandom K-Pop fans in Malang City. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 186 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The analysis technique used is Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that Financial Attitude and Income Level have a positive and significant effect on Financial Behavior, while FoMO has a negative but insignificant effect. Furthermore, Self-Control is proven to significantly moderate the relationship between Financial Attitude and Financial Behavior, but does not moderate the influence of FoMO and Income Level on Financial Behavior. These findings indicate that rational factors such as financial awareness and income play a more dominant role in shaping financial behavior compared to emotional factors such as FoMO. The study highlights the importance of strengthening self-control and positive financial attitudes to improve the financial behavior of K-Pop fans, particularly in managing consumptive tendencies influenced by fandom culture.
