Abstract

The program to strengthen religious moderation is a strategic step taken by the government to foster moderate religious understanding in society, thereby fostering a harmonious, tolerant, and peaceful religious life. This program is a shared responsibility of all parties, including Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKI), which, as a leading sector, plays a crucial role in fostering moderate insights among students. This study, using a qualitative approach and the Miles and Huberman data analysis model, aims to map the extent of the policy and implementation of strengthening religious moderation at Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIS) in Kediri. This aims to determine the role of Islamic Higher Education in strengthening religious moderation. The results indicate that: 1) PTKIS does not yet have a House of Religious Moderation established as an institution. However, there is an Aswaja Center institution that functions to strengthen moderate Islam. Mainstreaming religious moderation is implemented in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, including in education through inclusion in courses, appearing in the Moderate Islamic Studies (SIM) course; in research through religious research focused on religious moderation; and in community service through collaborative Community Service Programs (KKN) on religious moderation.
