Abstract

The development of financial technology (fintech) has transformed transaction and consumption patterns, particularly among Generation Z students who are highly engaged with digital technology. This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy and financial behavior on consumptive behavior, with financial technology serving as a mediating variable among Generation Z students in Sintang Regency. A quantitative approach was employed using a sample of 100 respondents selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The findings reveal that financial literacy does not significantly affect consumptive behavior. In contrast, financial behavior and financial technology have positive and significant effects on consumptive behavior. Furthermore, financial technology significantly mediates the relationship between financial literacy, financial behavior, and consumptive behavior among Generation Z students in Sintang Regency.
