Evaluation of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Acceptance Using the Extended Technology Acceptance Model: An Empirical Study on PT Benamakmur Selaras Sejahtera
Abstract
In modern organizations, cloud-based applications for Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) are becoming increasingly popular. This system supports more accurate data recording, rapid decision-making, and more structured and efficient administration. One application used today is the HRIS Talenta by Mekari. Through HRIS Talenta, various administrative tasks can be digitized, such as managing leave, applying for permits, and delivering announcements, all integrated into one ecosystem. PT Benamakmur Selaras Sejahtera uses this HRIS Talenta system to manage employees located at coal mining work sites. However, system quality and the level of user acceptance significantly affect the success of implementing this technology. This study aims to evaluate user acceptance of the HRIS Talenta application using the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. In developing the TAM framework, the external variable Organizational Support is utilized, and Behavioral Intention is positioned as a mediating variable to explain technology use behavior. A quantitative approach was applied, conducting a direct survey among 134 workers of PT Benamakmur Selaras Sejahtera. The direct and mediating effects between variables were evaluated using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. Factors influencing the adoption of HRIS Talenta within the organization are successfully identified, particularly regarding the vital role of Organizational Support and Behavioral Intention in technology use. Furthermore, this study provides concrete, data-backed recommendations for management to improve the overall effectiveness of the HRIS system in the workplace.
