Abstract

This community service activity aims to develop the character of pious children through Islamic financial education at TPQ Yambuur Rohmah, Balongkenongo Hamlet, Tanjung Kenongo Village, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency. The main problem identified was the low level of children’s awareness in managing their pocket money and the importance of saving from an early age. The method used in this activity was Service Learning, which integrates the learning process with community service through the stages of preparation, action, reflection, and evaluation.
The community service program was implemented through socialization on the importance of saving from an early age using educational and interactive approaches, including simple lectures, educational games, question-and-answer sessions, and direct practice using piggy banks as learning media. The results of the activity showed that the students of TPQ demonstrated high enthusiasm during the program and began to understand the importance of living frugally and setting aside part of their pocket money for savings.
In addition, this activity had a positive impact on the development of children’s character, particularly in fostering discipline, responsibility, and independence in managing simple finances. TPQ also plays an important role as a non-formal educational institution in instilling Islamic character values through the habituation of positive behavior among children. Therefore, Islamic financial education through the Service Learning method can serve as an effective approach to developing the character of pious children from an early age.
