Preferences of Village Communities in the Buffer Zone with the Main Tourism Destination to Batu City

Abstract

Pendem Village is one of the villages located at the crossing from outside Malang via the toll road to Batu City. This route is so busy and crowded, especially the land route passed by tourists, especially those who will visit Batu City or Malang City. This is a very good opportunity, especially as an effort to be able to welcome tourists before they arrive at their destination. Another option is of course as an option before tourists return to their respective cities, they can stop for a moment in Pendem Village. However, what does Pendem Village offer to tourists? So in this community service activity, a study was conducted on the readiness of Pendem Village as a buffer tourist destination for tourists who want to come to Batu City or Surabaya City. Several important variables in the study include the readiness of Pendem Village in terms of standard facilities and infrastructure, especially as a tourist destination such as basic facilities in the form of water, electricity, wifi networks, 4G or 5G networks, as well as food, drink and rest needs for tourists. Another variable that was developed was the need for space as an artificial tourist location, especially those oriented towards agricultural products such as rice and vegetables which are superior commodities in Pendem Village. The results of the study show that there needs to be an effort to improve infrastructure, especially if Pendem Village becomes a supporting tourist destination with the concept of Lumbuh Hasil Bumi Tourism Village, which is the motto for the development of Pendem Village according to the wishes of the people in Pendem Village.
