Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Al-tsiqoh : Jurnal Ekonomi dan Dakwah Islam

Papers submitted for publication must conform to the following guidelines:

    • Papers should discuss the themes of Islamic communication or Public relations, journalism, Management Communication, or English or Arabic;
    • Papers must be typed in one-half spaced on A4-paper size;
    • Papers’ length is about 4,000-7,000 words;
    • All submissions must include a 150-200 word abstract;
    • Full name(s) of the author(s) must be stated, along with his/her/their institution
    • All submissions should be in Open Office, Microsoft Word, RTF, or Word Perfect document file format;
    • Arabic words should be transliterated according to the style of McGill University;
    • According to the American Psychological Association style, ◦ Bibliographical references must be noted in the innate and bibliography.
    • When a source is cited for the first time, complete information is provided: full name(s) of the author(s), the title of the source in italics, place of publication, publishing company, date of publication, and the precise page that is cited. For the following citations of the same source, list the author’s last name, two or three words of the title, and the specific page number(s). The word ibid. Maybe used, but op.cit., and loc.cit. Are not.

Please consider the following criteria:

    • The title of the article submitted to Al-Tsiqoh: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Dakwah Islam should reflect a specific focus of study based on research--be they library or fieldwork research--and thus the author can have a general statement and sub-title specifically confining the scope of study
    • The article submitted should be based on research--be it library or fieldwork or other kinds of research
    • The article should present a bibliography which entails primary sources--books, manuscripts, interviews, or observation--and updated secondary sources from books or peer-reviewed journals
    • The article should contain an argument/thesis/finding which contributes to scholarly discussion in a field of study, which should clearly be mentioned and systematically presented in the abstract, content, and conclusion
    • The article should use good Indonesia/English/Arabic, or at least can be understood; the author is fully responsible for fixing and editing language; the copy editor of Al-Tsiqoh: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam is responsible only for minor typos and understandable grammatical errors.
    • The style and format, including the structure of the article, footnotes, and bibliography, should follow those of Nidhomul Haq
    • The template of Nidhomul Haq's article in Word document format is available for download here.

 NOTE: It is suggested that you use a reference manager, such as Zotero, Mendeley, etc., to style the footnote and the bibliography.
