Plagiarism Policy

Aulada: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Perkembangan Anak is committed to maintaining academic integrity and publication ethics. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or any other form of academic misconduct.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works that appropriately acknowledge the contributions of other authors through accurate citations and references.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct Plagiarism: Copying words, sentences, paragraphs, or other materials from another source without proper acknowledgment or quotation.

  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of an author's previously published work without appropriate citation or disclosure.

  • Mosaic Plagiarism: Combining phrases or ideas from multiple sources without adequate attribution.

  • Unattributed Paraphrasing: Presenting another author's ideas, arguments, or findings in different wording without proper citation.

  • Unauthorized Use of Materials: Using figures, tables, images, or other copyrighted materials without appropriate acknowledgment or permission when required.

2. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software to identify similarities with previously published works and other available sources.

The similarity report serves as a tool to support editorial assessment and does not, by itself, determine whether plagiarism has occurred. Editors evaluate the context of the similarities, including quotations, references, commonly used terminology, and properly cited material.

3. Similarity Threshold

The journal recommends a maximum similarity index of 20%, excluding references, properly identified quotations, and other appropriately excluded materials where applicable. The similarity index is assessed alongside the nature and context of the matched text.

A manuscript exceeding the recommended threshold may be returned to the author for revision or rejected, depending on the severity and nature of the identified similarities.

4. Actions in Cases of Plagiarism

If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified during the editorial or peer-review process, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Request clarification or revision from the author.

  • Return the manuscript for substantial correction.

  • Reject the manuscript.

  • Retract a published article if serious misconduct is confirmed after publication.

  • Notify the author's affiliated institution when warranted by the circumstances and applicable ethical procedures.

5. Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality and integrity of their submissions. All sources must be properly cited, quotations must be clearly identified, and permissions must be obtained for third-party materials when necessary.

Authors must also disclose any relevant overlap with their previously published work and must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals.

6. Editorial Responsibility

The editorial team of Aulada: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Perkembangan Anak is responsible for evaluating suspected plagiarism fairly and consistently, maintaining confidentiality throughout the investigation, and making decisions in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

The journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts or take appropriate corrective action when plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are established.
